New designer for our “Meet the Designer – Biennale di Venezia” This Thursday featuring Beril Cicek, also showed at Homeless Design Exhibition for the collateral event A better world at Serra dei Giardini, Venice.

Her Project ULL is a is a collection of mobile cabinets that works as luggage, to provide a sense of ease for one to transfer their home into different spaces and places. They are made of wool and wood and everything is hand knitted. She gets her inspiration from Icelandic traditional pieces, “Ullarpteysa” the sweater and “Saudskinnskor” the shoe. ULL has been featured in the VOGUE PORTUGAL magazine on the November Issue.

ULL by Beril Cicek

Beril Cicek is a young designer from Turkey who builds most of her design ideas around textures, forms and harmony that exits within the generous nature. Her focal point is all sorts of handmade products with naturally chosen materials, combined with innovative and creative form. She approaches her craft as an art form, which will make her ideas last longer.

Experiencing different mediums of art, including fashion, has increased her creativity. After her graduation from Bilkent University, Interior Design & Environmental Design Department, she finishes her master’s degree on “Industrial Design” in “Scuola Politecnica Di Design” in Milano. For two years, she lives in Milan and is experiencing the art of “Installation Design” while she works with an Italian designer Jacopo Foggini. Recently she moves back to Turkey and continues to produce new ideas-design to fulfill her lifelong dream and open her own gallery-based studio.
